Who can apply
Bursaries are awarded to Jewish students within the Western Cape province, for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in any field. The bursary is administered and coordinated by the Cape South African Jewish Board of Deputies.
Applicants must satisfy all of the minimum entry criteria before applying. Please note that failure to satisfy all of the requirements will lead to your application not being considered.

You must be Jewish
Bursaries are awarded to Jewish beneficiaries. A copy of a marriage document from a synagogue or temple is requested as supporting documentation.

You must reside within the Western Cape province
The applicant's ordinary place of residence must be in the Western Cape.

You must be studying, or intend to study, at undergraduate or postgraduate level
Any field of study is eligible — there is no restriction on discipline.

Your institution must be recognised and accredited, and in the Western Cape
A university, technical college or similar accredited tertiary institution within the province.

You must be in financial need
Awards are made on the basis of demonstrated financial need. The application requires full disclosure of household income, expenditure, assets and liabilities.
Applying on behalf of a student
A parent, guardian or another representative may complete the form on behalf of the applicant. When you create your account you will tell us your relationship to the student, and the application itself captures the student as the applicant.
